Servings
1 Glass
Ingredients
-
1/4 C. Granulated Sugar or Honey, Granulated
1/4 C. Freshly-Squeezed Lemon Juice (2 Large Lemons)
-
2 Tbsp. Sicilian Lemon White Balsamic Vinegar
1/4 Cup Fresh Basil Leaves, Roughly Torn
Water
Ice
Directions
Create a simple syrup by combining sugar and 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir mixture until sugar has completely dissolved and liquid is clear. Set aside to cool.
In a tall glass or a small bowl, use a muddler (or the flat wooden base of a wooden spoon) to "muddle" together the lemon juice and basil leaves. This will infuse the lemon juice with the flavor of the fresh basil.
Add 2/3 Cup of cold water, desired flavored splash of balsamic vinegar and simple syrup, and stir to combine.
Strain into a glass of ice and serve.
Recipe Note
We recommend scaling this recipe up to make the desired number of servings.
Basil Lemonade is great with the Sicilian Lemon White Balsamic Vinegar, but is also amazing with Mango White Balsamic Vinegar and Pineapple White Balsamic Vinegar. Don't be afraid to try your favorite. Dark balsamic vinegars are also tasty, but beware they will darken the lemonade.
