Spotlight Spice (Cinco de Mayo edition): Fajita Seasoning

Fajita Seasoning

This week we’re shining the spotlight on our Fajita Seasoning (reminder - Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow!).

Fajitas are a popular Southwestern dish typically consisting of grilled beef, chicken, or shrimp (or all of the above), served with sauteed onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers on a sizzling cast-iron skillet. They’re usually accompanied by corn or flour tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and lettuce. And they’re delicious.

Fajitas are super easy to make at home using our Fajita Seasoning. It’s a flavorful blend of onion and garlic with just the right amount of salt and pepper and dashes of other herbs and spices (and no MSG). Use it to make a marinade for your fajita meat by combining 1 Tbsp. of the blend with 1 Tbsp. lime juice and 1/4 C. vegetable oil. Add your meat to the mixture and refrigerate overnight.

Didn’t plan ahead? We got you. Just season your meat and veggie mixture right in the skillet as you cook.

We’re a fan of spice blends that are multi-purpose, and this one is no exception. Use it as an all-purpose seasoning salt for french fries, roasted veggies, baked potatoes, and more!
