  • THE SPICE TRADER [Around the World in 12 Blends] gift box is perfect for both the jetsetter in your life (to reminisce by recreating their favorite meals from their travels) and is for those adventurous in the kitchen who want to explore new flavors in their cooking. This set features 12 of our favorite spice blends commonly used in regions outside the United States.
Adobo Seasoning: Used in Mexican, Spanish, Latin American, Philippine and Puerto Rican cooking. Use to flavor a variety of foods including meats, poultry, fish and seafood before cooking. Our Adobo Seasoning is deliciously spicy without being too hot. Berbere Spice Blend: Used in Ethiopian and Eritrean cooking. Use as a rich and spicy rub for red meat and poultry. Harissa Blend: Used in north African cuisine. Can be used traditionally as a paste by mixing with olive oil, as a spicy rub for meats, or a spicy, warm seasoning on veggies. Shichimi Seven Flavor Blend: Used in Nipponese cooking. Use to spice up seafood, whether you're barbecuing, frying, or grilling. Make a rub of shichimi and salt, and sprinkle generously on your fish or chicken. Shichimi also makes a zippy seasoning for rice cakes or crackers. Baharat Spice Blend: Used in recipes from the Persian Gulf area. This blend of black pepper, coriander, paprika, cardamom, nutmeg, cumin, cloves, and cinnamon adds a warm, aromatic and sweet flavor to soups, tomato sauces, lentils, rice and couscous. French Seafood Seasoning: Used in French cuisine. This blend of onion, coriander, turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, garlic, paprika, pepper and other secret spices will be unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. This tasty blend for white fish is a particularly good choice for people on salt-free diets. Island Jerk Blend: Used in Caribbean cooking. Our spicy-hot and sweet Island Jerk Blend brings the robust flavors of hot chile pepper, allspice, and other traditional Jamaican spices and sugar together to make the perfect base for your next marinade or dry rub. Thai Rub: Used in Thai cooking. Thai food typically features flavors of ginger, garlic, and exotic peppers and lemongrass. When you want to create meat dishes with that delicious taste and aroma at home, look to our Thai Rub for an easy start. Basque Seasoning: Used in Mediterranean dishes. Our Basque Seasoning Blend is a blend of sun-dried tomato powder, smoked paprika and other flavorful herbs and spices. Delicious on meats, veggies and rice dishes. Garam Masala Blend: Used in Indian cooking. This classic, Punjabi creation literally translates as Hot (Garam) and Mixture (Masala). Don't be frightened by the "hot" moniker, however; Garam Masala gets its warmth from black pepper, cinnamon, and cloves, not from fiery chilies. Paella Seasoning: Used in traditional Spanish cuisine. All you need is 3 tsp of this delicious seasoning to one cup of rice to add all the wonderful flavors of this traditional Spanish dish. This rice dish can be filled with seafood meats, or veggies, depending on its regional origin. Za’atar Blend: Used in Middle Eastern cooking. Za'atar is a traditional spice blend which starts with a family of related herbs: oregano, thyme, and savory, then adds sesame seeds and salt. Some chefs include dried sumac, marjoram, and/or hyssop in their Za'atar. - it is as variable as the ubiquitous "Italian Seasoning," "Chinese Five Spice," and "Tandoori Masala." Great as a rub on meats, as a seasoning for roasted veggies, and as a flavorful addition to hummus and other dips.
