INGREDIENTS

1 quart pomegranate or cranberry-pomegranate juice
2 Cups orange juice
1 piece fresh ginger, peeled and cut into 1/4″ slices (length should be about 1-1/2 inches long)
2 Cinnamon Sticks
1/2 tsp Whole Cloves
1/4 tsp Allspice Berries
2 Green Cardamom Pods
1 Star Anise
3 tangerines, unpeeled and thinly sliced

STEPS

In a large heavy saucepan on the stove, bring the pomegranate juice, orange juice, ginger, allspice, cardamom and star anise to a boil. Lower the heat, cover the saucepan and simmer for 30 min.

Pour the spiced juices through a strainer to remove the spices, discard the pieces and return the liquid to the saucepan. Add the tangerine slices to the spiced juice, and serve warm, in mugs or heatproof glasses.
