This recipe submitted by Mathew Phoenix of Ankeny and took first place in our Chicken Rub Contest and first place overall for all of the rub contests at the 2013 State Fair!

INGREDIENTS:

1 tsp Chervil
2 tsp Smoked Black Pepper
1 tsp Smoked Sea Salt
1 tsp Granulated Onion
1 tsp Granulated Garlic
2 tsp Aleppo Chile
1/2 tsp Rosemary, Ground
1/2 tsp Ginger, Ground
1 tsp Annatto Powder
1 tsp Smoked Hot Paprika

STEPS:
Combine all spices in small bowl. Rub chicken with vegetable or olive oil, then liberally apply spice rub. Grill over indirect heat until interior of chicken reaches 165 degrees.
