Sometimes, what you crave most is a simple meal like the ones you remember from childhood. A burger and fries. Mac and cheese.
Just as easy to use as the foil packets from the "Mexican" aisle at the supermarket, but with more robust flavor, our Taco Seasoning Blend is the perfect go-to ingredient for a quick weeknight taco supper.
A traditionally flavored and well-balanced blend, our Taco Seasoning Blend makes a terrific, thick sauce for tacos, or can be used to make sauces for other Tex-Mex inspired dishes, too. Taco Seasoning Blend is a wee bit spicy, but not hot: blend of paprika, cayenne, onion and other spices. [If you like heat, add a pinch or two of your favorite chile]. Taco Seasoning Blend is a tasty enhancement to a grilled Taco Burger, too [don't forget the pepper jack cheese!].
To make old-fashioned ground beef tacos: Mix 1 to 2 Tbsp Taco Seasoning Blend with 1/4 Cup water, and stir into 1 lb cooked, drained ground beef. Heat till mixture is bubbling and sauce thickens. Note: Customers have noticed that our taco seasoning is a little bit spicier than the store package, so I would start with 1Tbsp.
For an even easier mid-week taco meal, try this Easy Chicken Taco recipe:
Put 2 lbs *frozen* boneless, skinless chicken breast in a counter-top slow cooker. Shake 1/4 cup Taco Seasoning Blend over frozen chicken. Pour 1 16 oz jar of mild picante sauce or salsa over chicken. Raid the refrigerator, and if you have any beer you don't like, or have a partial bottle [yeah, I know] that's lost its head, pour that in the slow-cooker too. Put the lid on the cooker, cook on high for at least 4 hours [on low for at least 6 hours]. Shred delicious chicken with a fork, serve with tortillas, taco fixings, and a bottle of beer that you *do* like.
Ingredients: Chile powder, garlic, salt, paprika, onion, cayenne, corn starch, other spices.
