Ingredients
2 15 oz. Cans Great Northern Beans (Drained & Rinsed)
6 Cloves Garlic (Peeled & Smashed)
-
2 Tbsp. Za’atar Blend
-
Zest of 2 Lemons (or 2 tsp. dried Lemon Zest)
¼ C. Fresh Lemon Juice
¼ tsp. Sugar
Directions
Place the drained and rinsed beans in a food processor and pulse until smooth. Through the food processor’s feed tube, slowly add the olive oil. Add a bit of water if the consistency is thicker than you’d like.
Add the Za’atar Blend, Lemon Zest, and lemon juice to the mixture, then pulse a few times to combine. Adjust seasonings and lemon juice if needed. A tiny bit of sugar can help boost the flavor, if needed.
Transfer the white bean spread to a serving bowl, garnishing with some za’tar and a drizzle of olive oil. Allow the spread to cool to room temperature before serving with crunchy raw vegetables and/or flatbread.
