Pomegranate and Blood Orange Irish Soda Bread

If you've never made bread before, Irish soda bread is a great place to start. Unlike traditional yeast breads, there's no proofing, no waiting for dough to rise, and no expertise with bread making required. The leavening comes from the reaction between baking soda and buttermilk, which means you can go from ingredients to oven in about the time it takes to soak some raisins which, in this case, you'll be doing anyway.

This version takes classic Irish soda bread in a new, fruity direction. Our Pomegranate Balsamic Vinegar gives the raisins a deep, jammy richness, and our Blood Orange Fused Olive Oil takes the place of most of the butter, adding a subtle citrus note that pairs nicely with the currant flavor. A sprinkle of Demerara Sugar on top gives the crust a satisfying crunch.

It's a simple bread with a lot going on, and we know you'll love it.
