Side Dishes
Ingredients
4 Strips Bacon
½ Medium Yellow Onion (Chopped)
1 lb. Fresh Green Beans (Snapped)
½ C. Water
½ tsp. Granulated Sugar
-
1 Tbsp. Champagne White Wine Vinegar
-
Sea Salt, Fine (to Taste)
-
Black Pepper, Fine Ground (to Taste)
Directions
In a Dutch Oven or large pan (with a lid), fry the bacon on medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan and crumble up once it’s cool enough to handle.
Toss the chopped yellow onion and snapped green beans into the pan and cook until the onion is translucent and the beans turn a lighter green (3-4 minutes). Stir frequently.
Add the water and cover the Dutch oven/pan with a lid. Continue to cook over medium heat for 15 minutes (most of the water should have cooked off).
Add the vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper and stir well. Continue to cook for another five minutes, stirring frequently.
Stir in the crumbled bacon, remove from heat, and serve immediately.
