Staff Spotlight: Tricia

Meet AllSpicer Tricia, one of very few employees who splits her time between our West Des Moines production facility and our East Village retail location. That means she sees the full picture — and there's a strong possibility she personally packaged the product she's telling you about.
Tricia came to AllSpice through her work as a recipe developer, and her culinary credentials run deep. She's contracted with internationally known authors to develop and test recipes for cookbooks, appeared on QVC to promote the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook: Pink Plaid Edition, and tested recipes for the 1991 Pillsbury Bake-Off in three categories. She describes that last one as the hardest she's ever worked in her life.
She also has deep experience in spice blending and flavor development from her career in the food industry. When Tricia tells you two spices work well together, trust her on that.
We sat down with Tricia to learn a little more about her.
What do you like to cook?
Growing up, I learned to be a good baker from my mom, and that's still my favorite jam today.
What's your favorite food?
Indian curry with tofu or chicken and lots of veggies. Yum!
What's something most people don't know about you?
I was on QVC to promote Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook: Pink Plaid Edition for Meredith Corporation. That was wild, even though I didn't have a blooper like some of the ones that have gone viral recently!
What do you like to do when you're not at the shop or warehouse?
I love dogs, and do a lot of dog-sitting or walking for friends. Other than talking about food and cooking, my favorite part of being in the shop is seeing all of our four-legged friends.
What's your favorite guilty (culinary) pleasure?
Exceptional cheese. I always have several varieties on hand!
