Staff Spotlight: Neil

AllSpicer Neil

If you've shopped in the store, you probably recognize Neil - he's behind the counter most weekdays and many Saturdays, too.

We asked him all sorts of questions to help you get to know him better. Read on to learn more about him.

What do you like to cook?

Neil has been really into homemade pizzas this summer. He likes a thin crust, topped with either traditional pizza sauce or his homemade pesto. From there, he adds meat, veggies, mozzarella and, of course, seasonings from the shop. His favorites for pizza are the Italian Seasoning Blend and the Ammazza Suocera Blend

How did you find out about AllSpice?

Five or six years ago Neil was introduced to the shop by his girlfriend. "It was a cool place and I was shocked at how many people were in getting spices," he shared. He enjoyed the vibe and joined us a few years later when we had a full-time opening.

What's something most people don't know about you?

Neil grew up all over the place - literally! He's lived in six different countries - The Philippines, Italy, Greece, Japan, South Korea, and the United States. "That's why I forget things," he said. "I had to learn them several different ways!"

What's your favorite food?

Sometimes people hesitate when we ask this question. Not Neil. He enthusiastically said, "Calamari!" 

When he lived in Crete, Greece his family would go to the local kebab and gyro place where they had big plates of calamari. "Not the appetizer sized plate - a HUGE dinner plate!"

What are you up to when you're not at the shop?

Treasure hunting. You might find Neil on a day off at a local thrift store or estate sale hunting for treasure to fill his eBay store.
