Staff Spotlight: Michael

AllSpicer Michael spends his time at our production facility in West Des Moines. It doesn't matter, though... if you've interacted with Michael, you're sure to remember him!

His official roles are Production Associate, but we could call him our King of Comedy or Master of Sass. Read on to learn more about him.

How did you originally learn about AllSpice?

"I've known fellow AllSpicer, Eva, since she was in high school, and she was one of the OGs (she helped open the store all the way back in 2010)." Michael went on to share that since Eva loved working with the crew, he decided he should give it a try.

What do you like to cook?

Baking is Michael's jam. "I really like baking things to share with other folks, like cookies and bars." And we really like sampling the cookies and bars Michael likes to share!

What’s your favorite food?

Michael shared that a childhood favorite is his mom's borscht with homemade bread. "As an adult, I love pretty much any sort of pasta, though!"

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

"I received an Everyday Hero award from the American Red Cross for putting out a fuel pump fire at a BP that I managed in Moorhead, MN." The AllSpice crew has learned a lot about Michael over the years, but this is a nugget even we didn't know!

What do you like to do when you’re not at the shop/warehouse?

I enjoy a good road trip with my husband, and doing projects around our house.

What do you like most about working at AllSpice?

"The workplace culture at AllSpice is unbeatable," Michael says. 

What’s your favorite guilty (culinary) pleasure?

"I can't pick just one," Michael shared. He went on to share that his favorites are "Oreo Fluff," and what his family affectionately calls "Gut Rot" He would have offered the recipe, but one isn't needed... it's just Kraft Mac 'n Cheese with ground beef.
