Spotlight Spice(s): National Popcorn Day Edition
Happy National Popcorn Day! In its honor, we're doing something a bit different for this week's Spotlight Spice - a round-up of our favorite popcorn products!
First, let's talk about the popcorn itself. We've carried Farmer's Best Popcorn for several years, and more recently added their line of handy microwave popcorn. We're big fans of Farmer's Best because it pops consistently and evenly - no more handfuls of old maids or charred pieces of popcorn!
Once we've got the popcorn handled, our next step is to toss the popped kernels in our Butter Infused Olive Oil (we recommend drizzling it around the edge of the bowl, then adding the popcorn and tossing to avoid soggy bits popcorn everywhere). Once it's well coated with the oil, we sprinkle liberally with one of our tasty popcorn seasonings:
Cheddar-Head Seasoning: It's recently returned from sabbatical, and it's changed! Our new Cheddar-Head Seasoning is similar to the older version of the blend in consistency but is made from a yellow cheddar base (the old version was white cheddar). Sprinkle it over your popcorn for tasty, cheesy flavor.
Sassy Salt & Vinegar: This one will make you pucker! Vinegar, sea salt, and a bit of sugar combine to make this English-inspired popcorn seasoning. If you love sea salt and vinegar chips, we know you're going to love this blend on your popcorn!
Truffled Parmesan Rub: Our Truffled Parmesan Rub might not be top of mind for popcorn (after all, it is labeled as a rub). But, trust us, it's amazing sprinkled over a freshly popped batch. The flavors of parmesan and earthy truffles pair perfectly creating a bowl of savory, popped goodness.
Tangy Herb & Dill Seasoning: This dill-filled, flavorful blend has a bit of a tangy zip from citric acid. It's well-balanced with flavors of coriander, garlic, onion, and mustard and the perfect amount of salt. This blend is our go-to for a savory seasoned popcorn.
