Spotlight Spice: Cranberry-Pear White Balsamic Vinegar
We’re feeling festive with this week’s Spotlight Spice – it’s our Cranberry-Pear White Balsamic Vinegar! This flavored vinegar is bright and tangy, managing to balance sweet and sour flavors harmoniously. It pairs nicely with citrus fused olive oils, like our Persian Lime or Blood Orange flavors for a tasty vinaigrette. You’ll also love it in cocktails, chutneys, and jams.
This white balsamic vinegar is one of our favorites for making a reduction or glaze for pork, chicken, and lamb. It’s also a wonderful accoutrement to a cheese or charcuterie board. To make the reduction, just simmer in a saucepan until the vinegar reduces by approximately half its original volume. The consistency of the reduced balsamic should coat the back of a spoon.
For roasted veggies, try combining Cranberry-Pear White Balsamic Vinegar with Roasted Walnut Oil or Butternut Squash Seed Oil, then drizzle the mixture over root vegetables, tossing to combine. Spread them out on a sheet pan, coat liberally with salt and pepper, then roast the prepared vegetables in the oven.
