Spotlight Spice: Chile Lime Blend

AllSpice Chile-Lime Blend

If you’ve ever enjoyed seasoned fruit or corn at a fair, festival, or more authentically on the streets of Mexico, you’re familiar with how a blend of chiles, lime juice, and salt can add depth and flavor to basic foods – and our Chile-Lime Blend will do just that.

Sea salt, a blend of chiles, and dehydrated lime juice combine to make this tasty blend, which will add a mild heat, subtle smokiness, sweet and tart citrus flavors, and a punch of saltiness to zest up nearly any dish. It’s great on fruits like mangos, papayas, pineapple, and watermelon, tasty on corn on the cob (try slathering your cooked corn with a bit of mayo first, sprinkling on the seasoning, then topping with a bit of cojita cheese), or as a rub for chicken or pork before tossing it on the grill.

Margarita

If you’re a fan of margaritas, try rimming your glass with a wedge of fresh lemon and this zesty blend. It’ll add a kick of flavor to the drink you’ll love. It’s also a great addition to summer veggies, guacamole, and other dips.

Don’t be scared off by the “chile” in this blend, even if you’re not a fan of overly spicy food. It’s a mild blend with much less heat than a jalapeño pepper. When we say it’s good for nearly anything, we mean it. This blend is perfect for experimenting, as it elevates savory dishes and sweet dishes alike.

Pick up a jar in the shop or online and give it a try. You’ll want a shaker lid for this blend because once you’ve tried it, you’ll be shaking it all over the place!
