This week’s Spotlight Spice is an exciting one – it’s our delicious Black Garlic Balsamic Vinegar!

What’s black garlic? Black garlic is garlic that’s been aged and cured in a heat- and humidity-controlled environment until it turns black and achieves a chewy consistency with a distinctly savory and sweet flavor – much less pungent than regular garlic. It’s been used in Asian cuisines for ages and has recently gained popularity in the culinary world. 

Our Black Garlic Balsamic Vinegar harnesses the rich flavor of black garlic in an easy-to-use balsamic that’s full of umami and soy flavors with just the right amount of sweetness. It’s wonderful drizzled over stir-fried chicken or pork dishes and is great in vinaigrettes, Asian-inspired sauces and marinades, and is perfect alongside cheeses and fresh fruits on. This vinegar pairs nicely with our Chipotle or Harissa infused olive oils as a marinade and is great combined with any of our Extra Virgin Olive Oils for a rich, flavorful vinaigrette.

Use it to add richness and depth to roasted veggies or meats, or reduce it in a saucepan to create an amazing balsamic reduction.
