Trick-or-Treat ‘Goes To the Dogs’

Dog_in_a_Fez_SherlockAmericans are gaga for celebrating Halloween. While not as big-budget as Christmas, Mothers’ Day, or even the Super Bowl (!), the National Retail Federation says that we’ll be spending upwards of $7.4 billion to celebrate Halloween.

And that’s not all spent on Fun Size candy bars, either; we “only” spend $2.5 billion on those little Snickers and Kit Kat bars. The NRF forecasts that Americans will buy $350 million worth of Halloween costumes for our pets.

Will your dog or cat be one of those beloved pets going around in a Halloween disguise this year?  Bring ’em on down to the East Village this weekend for a merry, not scary, costume pet parade!

Dog_in_a_Fez_actual_fezdogHere are the details: The 5th Annual Historic East Village Spooky Paws Parade is this Sunday, October 26th at 2 p.m.! Come trick-or-treat, doggie style, along East Locust Street.

We’ll be corralling pets and their humans at the registration table, at the corner of East Locust and Robert Ray Drive (Near Simon Estes Amphitheater) beginning at 1:15 p.m. Register for prizes, including gift certificates and dog items from the event’s sponsors! We’ll line up at 1:45 p.m. and start the parade at 2 p.m.!
