Father’s Day is coming up next weekend, June 18.

Father’s Day is one of our favorite gift-giving holidays. We get a kick out of helping our customers find just the right present for the fathers (and father-figures) in their lives.

The popular idea of an old-fashioned dad was one of a great guy who probably knew his way around a BBQ grill, but who also got hopelessly lost trying to navigate around the kitchen.

Thankfully, many of us grew up with old-fashioned dads who were as comfortable following a cookie recipe as they were with a cookout. And now, a generation or two later, a majority of modern dads are handy in the kitchen and hands-on with the kids.  It’s definitely a change for the better.

Best of all, the modern dads we know all like to cook, and they all enjoy sharing and eating really good food.

And that makes Father’s Day shopping for them a lot of fun.

AllSpice owner Rory Brown has some suggestions for Father’s Day gifts that are popular this year:

Scott and Ken Coronet and daughter Quinn. They are the founders of Quinn’s Cookies, which is another small business.

Think inside the box:

  • the BBQ box,
  • the Barnyard Box,
  • or maybe even make up a one-of-a-kind special box for your dad with your own personal touch.

For the handyman. Does your dad like handy gadgets?  Other items of interest for dads are the Basting Brush, the Oil Mister.

Avid readers. Or if he like’s pretty picture books that aren’t just kid stories, give him one of our themed cookbooks, like Smoke and Spice or Small Plates.

For the taste-master. Dad may also like some delicious olives or a special bottle of Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup.

For the collector. If he’s already an intrepid collector of  AllSpice ingredients (the grown-up version of Pokemon: you’ve gotta taste ’em all!), there is always the gift of a spice rack so that dad can display his beautiful spices for all to see.
