AllSpice Week at Baru 66

In a marvelous meeting of culinary minds, Des Moines’ contemporary French restaurant Baru 66 is celebrating “AllSpice Week” today through February 29.

Every evening this week, Chef Baruthio will be serving a $75, six-course meal, each dish inspired by, and made with, AllSpice ingredients.

Here is the menu:

pan-seared foie gras
with a mulled wine poached pear
(allspice mulling spices)

loch duart salmon carpaccio
house-cured salmon with
honey ginger and blood orange vinaigrette
(allspice blood orange extra virgin olive oil and
honey ginger white balsamic vinegar)

marlin sashimi
with urfa chili salsa and organic pineapple sorbet
(allspice crushed urfa chili)

smoked pepper filet
filet mignon with au poivre sauce
(allspice black pepper smoked ground)

blue + honey mousse
Maytag blue cheese with honey, candied walnuts and
black truffle salt
(allspice black truffle salt)

bacon-chocolate
iced parfait with espresso brava seasoned salt
(allspice espresso brava seasoned salt)
