The latest in LHF’s Cabin Fever Series, Saturday’s Beer ‘n’ Bread event gives attendees the opportunity to meet the people behind our favorite Iowa craft brews, and explore the art of home-brewing with local experts.
Better yet, you’ll get to enjoy a variety of micro-brew tastings from across the state, and sample fresh artisan breads.
The Beer’n’Bread event features beer samples from Confluence Brewing, 515 Brewing Company, New American Brewing, Millstream Brewing, and Twisted Vine Brewery, alongside artisinal breads from South Union and La Mie Bakeries — and (our favorite) some delicious beer-friendly savory samples from the shop.
AllSpice Owner Rory Brown says, “We will be sampling bratwurst and Denise’s Mustard. We will be using a local beer to simmer the brats, and then we will grill them for deliciousness. We are taking a couple of “Make Your Own” kits, one for the brats and one for the mustard. They will be available to purchase at the event. ”
Complimentary snacks and soft drinks are included in the $20 ticket price. To assure ample opportunity for tasting, there will be two sessions (3pm to 4:30pm, or 5pm to 6:30pm), each with limited tickets sold.
The showcase benefits Living History Farms. You can purchase $20 tickets (LHF members get discounted $16 tickets) at the Living History Farms website. Tickets will be sold until 11am, Saturday, March 14 or until the event is sold-out.
