Comice Pear White Balsamic Vinegar
Known as the sweetest pear variety, Comice Pears have been described as mellow and earthy in flavor. Native to France, Comice Pears are round with short necks, thick stems and a soft flesh. They are green but develop a pink “blush” as they ripen.
While the Bartlett Pear may be better known for snacking and canning, Comice Pears are aromatic and succulent, delicious served raw for snacking or salads, or paired with cheese and wine.
Now the delicate and delicious flavor of the Comice Pear is available in a versatile balsamic, Comice Pear White Balsamic Vinegar.
Comice Pear White Balsamic Vinegar is a lovely addition to spritzers, shrubs or cocktails, or for more traditional applications like marinades and dressings. Speaking of which, Comice Pear White Balsamic “pears" (argh) well with Roasted Walnut or Toasted Sesame Oils, and is a good match to Lemon or Blood Orange Olive Oils.
Use a reduction of Comice Pear White Balsamic Vinegar to drizzle over your favorite cheese - especially soft-ripening cheeses like Brie, Camembert, or any of the blues. Glaze root vegetables, squash, or grilled or roasted fruits with a little Comice Pear White Pear Balsamic Vinegar.
AllSpice owner Rory Brown says, “This stuff is delicious, like a sweet tart, it tastes like candy. Definitely delicious on salads, but drizzled over grilled fruit or cheese, as well as a great one for a summery drink. It is so good, I think customers will just drink it from the bottle.”
